In the second round of the presidential elections, Sălaj recorded unusually high turnout, with 13 polling stations having more than 100% turnout. The most impressive was at the cultural center in Miluani, where a 464% turnout was reported, even though only 14 people were on the lists. By 18:30, some 97,000 people had voted in the county of Sălaj, while the national turnout reached 59.48%, with 10.7 million voters, including 1.53 million from the diaspora.
