Three major unions in education have decided to continue their protest actions to oppose the austerity measures imposed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. Thousands of teachers, along with students and pupils, protested in Bucharest, demanding recognition of the issues in education and the resignation of Minister Daniel David. The unionists emphasize that the protests are not to defend privileges, but to save the Romanian educational system and ensure quality education. The protest actions will continue, with a schedule to be announced later.
