The education unions announce that starting Monday, February 2, they will begin collecting signatures for the initiation of a new general strike, in response to the austerity measures adopted by Law 141/2025.
The leader of the Federation of Education Unions 'Spiru Haret', Marius Nistor, emphasized that recent measures, such as increasing the teaching norm from 18 to 20 hours and raising the number of students in class, endanger the quality of education.
Teachers are asking the Government to reconsider these decisions, and in the event that no dialogue is reached, a warning strike is being considered. Nistor criticized the lack of communication with the authorities, mentioning that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has not met with the unions, which exacerbates the situation in education. The strike could coincide with simulations and national exams, and the teaching staff are dissatisfied with the working conditions in the system.
