In the context of the shortage of specialists and palliative care units, the OncoHelp Association, in collaboration with the 'Victor Babeș' University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara, has initiated the OncoBridge project. The aim is to train 250 students to provide medical assistance to patients in terminal stages, focusing on quality of life and empathy.
The president of the OncoHelp Association, Șerban Negru, emphasizes the importance of palliative care, which does not mean giving up, but rather pain control and psychological support. The project includes a specialization that combines theory with practical experience, developing essential competencies such as communication and empathy. Students in their IV-V years at UMF and those in their III-IV years at General Nursing can apply for the OncoBridge program, having the opportunity to contribute to an essential component of modern medicine.
