The Romanian government has recently adopted an Emergency Ordinance that introduces important measures for the seismic strengthening of buildings. One of the main measures stipulates that the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Publicity (ANCPI) will record the seismic risk class of properties in the land register, thus ensuring that this information becomes visible in the land register extract. The Ministry of Development emphasizes that this measure will contribute to the correct information of citizens before purchasing a home and will increase the responsibility of actors in the real estate market.

Additionally, the Ministry of Development has announced the extension of the national investment program 'Safe and Healthy Schools', as well as programs for strengthening hospitals and assessing buildings in the fields of health and education. In total, 343 financing contracts for seismic strengthening have been signed, amounting to 5 billion lei, of which 25 objectives, worth 1 billion lei, are located in the municipality of Bucharest. These measures come in the context of concerns related to the seismic risks of buildings in Romania.
