The first written exam of the 2026 Baccalaureate takes place under difficult conditions, with a wave of extreme heat in Romania, where temperatures reach 40 degrees Celsius. In Timiș County, only 57 out of the 247 exam rooms are equipped with air conditioning, which means that approximately 77% of the rooms do not benefit from climate control, despite the red heat alert. In Sibiu, out of the eight exam centers, only two are air-conditioned. The Ministry of Education has requested measures to protect candidates, including ensuring drinking water and using rooms equipped with air conditioning. In the absence of these, fans or portable air conditioning units have been requested to provide better conditions for students. Appeals for borrowing fans have circulated in parent groups, highlighting the difficulties encountered in conducting the exam.
