The Functional Literacy Intervention Mechanism (MIAF) project will take place over a period of four years, starting from October 1, 2025, and its main goal is to improve students' competencies in reading, mathematics, science, civic education, and digital education. The total budget of the project is 207 million lei, with a non-reimbursable funding of 166 million lei from European funds. The project aims to address the issue of functional illiteracy, considered a national security risk, through integrated interventions and the development of teachers' competencies.
