In November, the United States' trade deficit reached $56.8 billion, nearly doubling from the previous month, according to data from the Census Bureau. This increase of 94.6% was particularly influenced by the deterioration of trade relations with the European Union, where the goods deficit rose by $8.2 billion. Although the deficit with China decreased by about $1 billion to $13.9 billion, the cumulative deficit up to November reached $839.5 billion, 4% more than in the same period of the previous year. This development contradicts the Trump administration's efforts to reduce trade imbalances by imposing tariffs, and a recent agreement with the European Union established a 15% tariff on most European goods in an attempt to stabilize trade relations.
