The Sector 2 City Hall provided explanations after citizens complained about the sudden increase in property taxes. According to the General Directorate of Local Taxes and Fees, the calculation of taxes for the year 2026 was carried out between January 1-6, and the amounts due will be communicated by March 31. During this period, there were intermediate values displayed on the Ghiseul.ro platform, which were later corrected.

Citizens who do not pay by March 31 will not benefit from the 10% reduction in taxes. Reactions have been negative, with many observing that the property tax has increased significantly from one day to the next, and some have been forced to return to the counters to pay the increased amounts. The tax increase is part of a package of fiscal measures adopted by the Bolojan Government, which came into effect on January 1, 2026.
