Dragoș Cabat, a member of the Board of Directors of CFA Romania, estimates that the Romanian state could obtain over 10 billion lei by listing minority stakes in companies such as Hidroelectrica, Romgaz, Nuclearelectrica, or Transgaz on the stock exchange, without losing control over them. This amount significantly exceeds the 6 billion lei that the Government intends to obtain by increasing VAT from 19% to 21%.
