<p>The company had previously sought to raise funds by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States. Northvolt has struggled to obtain the funding needed to continue its business, despite attempts to attract new investors. The battery maker was seen as a great hope for Europe in the competition with large Chinese manufacturers in the electric vehicle battery industry.
