Financial ratings agency S&P Global has affirmed the US sovereign rating at 'AA plus', arguing that the expected revenues from tariffs imposed by the Trump administration will offset the fiscal hit from recent tax cuts and spending increases. The rating confirmation comes as President Trump signed into law in July a sweeping package of tax cuts and spending cuts, dubbed the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act'.
