In April 2026, the volume of construction works recorded an increase of 14.0% compared to March 2026, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Compared to April 2025, the increase was 20.7%. In the first four months of 2026, the volume of works grew by 11.7% compared to the same period in 2025.


The increases were particularly highlighted in major repairs (+17.3%) and new constructions (+12.6%). By types of construction, residential buildings increased by 15.8%, while engineering works grew by 13.9%. In the period from January 1 to April 30, 2026, the volume of construction works increased by 11.7% in gross series, with significant increases in new constructions (+13.8%) and maintenance (+12.2%).


INS emphasizes that these data reflect an upward trend in the construction sector, with favorable prospects for the future.
