An MKOR survey reveals that 74% of Romanians do not believe that the Government will effectively manage the additional revenues from tax changes. 64% fear a possible VAT increase from 19% to 21% and 96% plan to adjust their spending. Romanians demand tax fairness, cutting privileges and fighting corruption as priorities before any new taxes. Confidence in institutions is at historic lows and tax measures perceived as inevitable are prompting people to look for ways to save.
