The Romanian Embassy in the USA announced that trade exchanges between Romania and the United States exceeded 7.8 billion dollars in 2025, continuing the growth trend of recent years.
Romania's exports to the USA reached 5 billion dollars, compared to 3.4 billion dollars in 2021, while imports totaled 2.8 billion dollars, resulting in a trade surplus for Romania.
Among the main export categories are industrial equipment, automotive products, consumer goods, as well as IT and business services.
In a regional context, Romania ranks ahead of countries such as Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Slovenia, but behind Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, which have larger trade volumes.
The embassy emphasized the diversification of the economic relationship between Romania and the USA and the potential for cooperation in industry, technology, and services.
