The Budget-Finance Committee of the Chamber of Deputies adopted, on Monday, an amendment supported by the Ministry of Finance so that the RO e-Invoice system does not become mandatory for individuals earning income from copyright, agricultural activities, as well as foreign cultural institutes and centers operating in Romania based on intergovernmental agreements.
This modification, announced by the interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, comes as a result of public protests and a petition signed by personalities from various fields. The amendment adopted in the Budget-Finance Committee exempts individuals earning income from copyright, agricultural activities, as well as foreign cultural institutes from the obligation to use e-Invoice. Among the main changes is the removal of the obligation for individuals who identify fiscally by CNP, who will be able to use the optional system. The Ministry of Finance emphasized that the digitization process will continue, maintaining the objectives of traceability and combating tax evasion, but with a more reasonable approach for taxpayers.
