Oracle has announced the layoff of 404 employees from its organization in Romania, with notifications sent out on Monday. Each laid-off employee will receive a severance package based on their tenure in the company, ranging from 3 salaries for those with 0-3 years of work experience, up to 12 salaries for those with a tenure of 11.5 years or more. The company has decided to offer an extended notice period of two months, during which employees will not have to work, being considered on paid leave.

In the global context, Oracle has laid off thousands of employees amid the transition to artificial intelligence. In 2024, Oracle's business in Romania grew by 23.2%, and net profit increased by 4.7 times compared to the previous year.
