Oil prices recorded a decline on Friday, with Brent crude reaching $98.05 per barrel, down $1.34 (1.35%), while the American West Texas Intermediate fell by $1.65 (1.74%) to $93.40 per barrel. This decrease in prices comes against the backdrop of a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, as well as statements from President Donald Trump, who mentioned the possibility of discussions between the U.S. and Iran over the weekend. Trump emphasized that Iran had committed not to develop nuclear weapons for over 20 years. Iranian sources indicated a reduction in expectations for a comprehensive agreement, opting for a memorandum to prevent the resumption of hostilities. In March, oil prices rose by 50% due to conflicts in the Middle East, reaching record levels, but have recently fallen below $100 per barrel.
