Oil prices have recorded significant declines, amid possible negotiations between the United States and Iran, which could reduce tensions and increase the global supply of oil. Brent crude prices fell by 0.6%, reaching $94.94 per barrel, while the American West Texas Intermediate (WTI) dropped by 1.2%, to $88.50 per barrel. These declines followed a previous session marked by significant increases, caused by escalating tensions in the region, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic point through which approximately 20% of the world's oil flows. Iran is considering participation in peace talks in Islamabad, but has not made a final decision, citing alleged violations of the ceasefire by the U.S. Tensions remain high, and Iranian officials emphasize that they will not negotiate under pressure.
