In 2024, the National Bank of Romania reported a profit of RON 3.842 billion, 58% higher than in 2023. Operating expenses were 13% below budget and operating profit increased to RON 5.647 billion. Although there were expenses on asset revaluation, the NBR maintained a surplus of liquidity in the money market, but had net losses of RON 2.533 billion from monetary policy operations.
