In the first nine months of 2025, the turnover in retail trade recorded a growth of 1.6% in gross series, according to INS data. This growth was supported by an increase in sales of non-food products (+4%) and fuels (+2.6%), while sales of food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 1.8%. Adjusting the data based on working days and seasonality, trade grew by 2.2%, with sales of non-food products increasing by 5% and fuels by 3.1%. In September, business in commerce decreased by 0.5% compared to August, but increased by 1.3% seasonally adjusted. Compared to September 2024, retail sales decreased by 2% in gross series and by 1.9% adjusted. Sales of food products decreased by 5%, while non-food products decreased by 0.9%, while trade in fuels increased by 0.7%.
