Kumho Tire, an important South Korean tire manufacturer, will build its first factory in Europe in the city of Opole, Poland. The company announced an investment of 587 million dollars (2.1 billion zlotys) and will produce up to six million tires annually, employing approximately 400 people. The Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone approved the sale of the land for 36 million zlotys. Kumho chose Opole due to its logistical advantages, skilled workforce, and government incentives. The factory will be part of a global production network, aiming to strengthen competitiveness in the European market. Trade relations between Poland and South Korea have recently strengthened, with investments in various fields, including defense and culture.
