The German Minister of Finance, Lars Klingbeil, announced that Germany, along with France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain, intends to act more quickly regarding essential political issues, such as harmonizing capital market regulations.
Klingbeil emphasized that the current pace of European actions is not sufficient to meet the challenges facing Europe. The goal of this collaboration is to strengthen European sovereignty and improve Europe's role on the international stage, especially in difficult times.
The recent meeting of finance ministers addressed the acceleration of activities related to capital markets, savings, and investments, in the context of previous discussions about reducing bureaucracy and better connecting EU capital markets.
Currently, each member state has its own regulations and financial structures, which complicates the integration of capital markets.
