Under the draft, banks will be charged an additional 4% tax rate on turnover, which will double the tax burden for the third and fourth quarters of 2025. This change cancels tax relaxation plans for 2026, leaving banks with a much higher tax burden than they had anticipated. Currently, banks are subject to a 16% corporate tax and a 2% specific tax, which was set to fall to 1% in 2026.
