Romania recorded one of the highest retail sales increases in the European Union in 2023.

Romania had one of the strongest increases in retail sales, both on a monthly and annual basis. Romania had a 1.7% increase in November compared with the previous month, and annual growth was 3.8%. In the euro area, retail sales fell by 0.2% and in the EU area by 0.3% in November compared with the previous month.
