Electronic Arts, one of the largest video game developers, has been acquired by a consortium of private investors for 55 billion dollars, at a price of 210 dollars per share. This transaction, which will transform EA into a private company, will eliminate the pressure of quarterly financial reporting. The company, known for popular franchises such as FIFA and Battlefield, has nearly 15,000 employees and an annual revenue of 7 billion dollars. The transaction is considered the largest 'leveraged buyout' in the industry.
