ECOFIN has reviewed Romania's net expenditure path, highlighting the lack of effective action under the excessive deficit procedure in 2020. Romania must present measures to reduce the deficit by October 15, 2025 and respect certain thresholds for net expenditure growth set for the following years, with the aim of putting an end to the excessive deficit by 2030.
