The Concordia Employers’ Confederation has opened a permanent office in Brussels to strengthen the involvement of Romanian companies in shaping European policies before they are adopted. The new structure will represent the interests of Romania’s business community and will monitor dossiers affecting companies.

The office, led by Adelina Dabu, Director of European and International Affairs at Concordia, will serve as a channel for institutional dialogue and early warning. It will connect the organization with BusinessEurope, employers’ confederations in the member states, the European Economic and Social Committee, and the institutions of the European Union. Global economic relations will also be coordinated through the organizations in Paris and Geneva.

Priorities include the EU budget, corporate financing, reducing bureaucracy, supporting SMEs, labor market rules, and European energy policy. Concordia already has four representatives on the EESC and will form coalitions with employers’ organizations from other member states.

Concordia President Dan Șucu emphasized that decisions made in Brussels directly influence energy costs, access to capital, hiring, and the growth prospects of Romanian companies. He advocated maintaining cohesion policy and balancing investments aimed at reducing disparities with funding for competitive European champions operating globally.

According to Concordia, in nearly two decades since Romania joined the EU, the country’s economy has tripled, while per capita income has risen from below 50% to almost 80% of the European average.
