Romgaz has announced that it will not be able to provide natural gas to the population until March 31, 2027, contrary to previous statements by the company's management and the Minister of Energy. The first offers for consumers could be launched only in December 2026.
Dumitru Chisăliță, a former member of the Board of Directors of Romgaz, emphasized that the issue is not technical, but rather about the availability of resources. The company has been technically prepared, but does not have gas to sell.
Chisăliță criticized the political approach to the situation, which has led to administrative blockages and a lack of preparedness in the face of recent legislative changes. Despite promises to liberalize the market, the reality shows that Romanians will not have access to cheaper gas before 2027.
