Canada will drop some retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods, but will keep taxes on autos, steel and aluminum. Mark Carney's announcement comes after talks with President Trump and will restore free trade on most goods. The 25% tariffs on US goods will remain in place and Canada will accelerate trade negotiations, particularly in sectors such as autos and steel, ahead of the USMCA review.
