Former President Traian Băsescu expressed concern that Romania may be forced to adopt a model similar to that of Greece, where major infrastructure was sold to meet financial obligations. Băsescu emphasizes that this year, Romania has to pay interest of approximately 10 billion euros, which could lead to drastic measures to manage the debts.

This situation could prompt the state to make difficult decisions, including selling essential assets, to ensure financial stability. Băsescu warns of the need to find sustainable solutions to avoid a crisis similar to that in Greece.
