The National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) highlights that vacation vouchers are essential for the Romanian economy, having a demonstrated positive impact on tourism and jobs. A recent study shows that their elimination could cause a loss of 1.744 billion lei from GDP and 17,000 jobs.

Additionally, every million lei allocated for vouchers supports over 1,670 jobs. ANAT signals a recession in tourism, with a 6.3% decrease in the number of tourists in 2025, and emphasizes that the decrease in purchasing power is the main cause, not prices. Vouchers have stimulated investments in tourism, and without them, many projects are at risk. ANAT calls for the maintenance and updating of the value of vouchers, as well as their extension into the private sector to ensure economic development and social equity.
