Florin Barbu, Minister of Agriculture, has tabled an amendment to the draft fiscal-budgetary bill, asking for the exemption of salary incentives for staff attracting European funds, arguing that these funds are 100% co-financed by European money. Protests by agriculture ministry employees, unhappy with the proposed salary caps, began in Bucharest and across the country, with more than 700 trade unionists taking part. Barbu noted that wheat and corn yields are better than last year.
