The Ministry of Finance announces that the Government's fiscal-budgetary package has been assessed by the European Commission as a positive step in reducing the budget deficit.

The package of fiscal-budgetary measures presented by the Romanian Government has been recognized by the European Commission as a step forward in tackling the excessive deficit. Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare underlined the importance of correcting the deficit and took responsibility for fiscal consolidation. The Commission recommended Romania to limit net expenditure growth and eliminate the excessive deficit by 2030. ECOFIN discussions also covered topics such as the digital euro and securitization, highlighting the need for growth-friendly regulations.
