Two women, a 45-year-old Romanian and a 37-year-old Croatian, have been provisionally arrested following a joint operation by the police from Lower Austria and Vienna. They are suspected of committing several apartment burglaries in Vienna between February 18 and 24, 2026.

Investigators intervened on February 24, detaining them following an investigation conducted by the Theft Investigation Unit and the Criminal Police Office in Vienna. The suspects are believed to have operated in sectors 10 and 12 in Vienna, breaking into apartments without leaving obvious signs of burglary, suggesting the use of special methods.

Following the searches, the police confiscated goods suspected of being stolen and continue investigations to determine the extent of the criminal activity and any connections to other similar incidents.
