Last month, Spain reported a record number of 3.4 million foreign workers registered in the social security system, marking an increase of over 350,000 compared to the same period last year. This increase is the result of the regularization process for immigrants initiated by Pedro Sánchez's government in April, which allowed undocumented foreign workers to obtain residency and work rights.

According to the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Moroccan workers lead the ranking with 422,000 contributors, followed by Romanians, who exceed 350,000. Additionally, foreign contributors come from only 30% of European countries.

The majority of foreign workers are active in sectors such as hospitality, retail, and construction. The regularization process generated nearly 1.2 million applications, highlighting the positive impact on the integration of foreign workers into the Spanish economy.
