A 19-year-old woman, pregnant for eight months, managed to deceive several elderly people in Iași County using the 'accident' method. She called the victims, claiming to be a relative or a nurse bringing dramatic news.

Exploiting the fear and vulnerability of the elderly, she managed to take their life savings, collecting a total of 107,000 lei from three victims aged between 83 and 87 years. One of the victims, Florența C., recounted how she was manipulated by the emotional appeal of the scammer, who presented herself as her daughter. The police were able to quickly identify her, and the young woman was arrested, facing a sentence of 6 months to 5 years in prison. Specialists recommend caution and verification of suspicious calls to prevent such scams.
