A young man from Iași allegedly obtained over 16,000 lei through fictitious returns at easybox

A 28-year-old man from Iași County was detained for 24 hours and is being investigated for computer forgery and aggravated computer fraud carried out continuously. He is suspected of having obtained approximately 16,300 lei during 2026 by simulating fake returns for online orders.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly used the easybox delivery system and fictitious names to register returns without actually placing the products in the compartments designated for handover. He allegedly subsequently collected the amounts corresponding to these returns.

Police conducted a search on Monday at the young man’s home in Iași County. Following the search, mobile phones, clothing items, cards and other documents were seized, which investigators believe may be connected to the activity under investigation.

The young man was taken to the Roman Municipal Police headquarters for questioning and was subsequently detained. The investigation is continuing to establish the full extent of the alleged criminal activity and the damage caused.
