The National Meteorological Administration has issued orange and yellow warnings for severe weather, valid until Thursday morning. The phenomena targeted include heavy snowfall, blizzards, and a significant drop in temperature across the entire country. The most critical period will be between Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon, when an orange warning will affect Muntenia and southern Moldova.
In counties such as Vrancea, Galați, and Călărași, wind gusts will reach 85 km/h, causing visibility to drop below 50 m and the formation of a snow layer of up to 50 cm. At the same time, the south, southeast, and mountainous areas are under a yellow warning, with precipitation forecasted to exceed 40 l/m² and wind intensifications of up to 90 km/h in the Southern Carpathians. Until Thursday at 10:00, the rest of the territory remains under an advisory for extremely cold weather, with a high risk of ice and frost due to the expansion of snowfall areas.
