The National Meteorological Administration has issued a Yellow Code weather warning, valid from May 9, 10:00 AM to May 10, 10:00 AM, for atmospheric instability and significant amounts of water in various regions of Romania.
Meteorologists forecast torrential downpours, electrical discharges, wind intensifications, and possible hail, especially in the west, center, and north of the country. The first warning applies on Saturday, May 9, between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, concerning Oltenia, Transylvania, the northwest of Muntenia, the north and west of Moldova, as well as locally in the Southern and Eastern Carpathians.
It is estimated that in these areas, water amounts of 15–25 l/m² will fall, with the possibility of exceeding 30–50 l/m² in short intervals. A second Yellow Code warning, valid from May 9, 10:00 PM to May 10, 10:00 AM, refers to the north and west of Moldova, where downpours of 20–40 l/m² are expected.
In Bucharest, the weather will cool down, with light rain and temperatures between 12–19°C, without being under the incidence of weather warnings.
