ANM: Yellow code for strong winds, significant precipitation and blizzard conditions, valid until Friday morning

Meteorologists from ANM issued yellow code alerts on Thursday morning for strong winds, heavy precipitation, and blizzard-like snowfall, valid until Friday morning at 10:00 AM.

In the counties of Prahova, Buzău, and Vrancea, rainfall of 25-35 l/m² will accumulate, with isolated areas reaching 40-50 l/m². At altitudes over 1500 m in the mountainous areas of Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Buzău, Vrancea, Brașov, and Covasna, snowfall is expected with a new snow layer of 15-30 cm and winds with gusts of 90-100 km/h, blowing the snow. Additionally, in Caraș-Severin county and locally in Timiș, the wind will intensify to 50-70 km/h, while in mountainous areas, gusts will exceed 90-100 km/h. Precipitation will continue to affect most of the country, with rain and, in some places, snow and sleet, while conditions for ice will persist.
