IGSU Warning: blizzard snow in the Carpathians and intensifications of the wind in Banat, Oltenia, locally in Transylvania and in the south-west of Muntenia

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) has issued a warning regarding severe weather conditions for Tuesday, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Blizzard conditions are expected in the Southern Carpathians, the Curvature Carpathians, and locally in the Western Carpathians, with snow accumulation and visibility reduced to under 100 meters. The wind will be intensified in the regions of Banat, Oltenia, Transylvania, and the southwest of Muntenia, with speeds between 50 and 70 km/h.

Authorities recommend that citizens avoid traveling in blizzard and snowfall conditions, and if travel is necessary, to inform themselves about road conditions. It is essential that vehicles are properly equipped for winter. Additionally, it is advised to avoid areas with trees and structures that may be displaced by the wind.
