ANM announces exceptionally cold weather and frost between January 15-20, with mixed precipitation and ice, particularly affecting the north and east of Moldova.

The National Meteorological Administration has issued a warning valid between January 15, 8:00 PM, and January 20, 10:00 AM, for the entire country, announcing extremely cold weather. Frost is expected especially during the nights and mornings, with minimum temperatures in the north and east of Moldova between -16 and -8 degrees. The night of January 15 to 16 will be frosty, and the day of January 16 will bring a significant cooling in the southern and eastern regions. During this period, mixed precipitation, ice, and intensifications of the wind with speeds of 40-50 km/h are expected in the south of Banat and the southeastern regions. The ANM has also issued a YELLOW CODE warning for the north and east of Moldova, recommending avoiding non-essential travel and caution in areas with ice.
