Vasile Dencu, vice president of PSD and MEP, stated on Digi24 that the proposal to form a minority government from PNL and USR was rejected in Parliament with 281 votes against, which makes this option impossible. Dencu emphasized that PSD will not have a political contract with AUR, considering that this party is against the system and could not support a government it has constantly criticized. He mentioned that restoring the pro-Western coalition remains a viable option, especially if PNL decides to go into opposition. Dencu suggested that there could also be alternative solutions, such as a technocratic government, but he emphasized that AUR would not be interested in such collaboration. He also stated that a minority government could be possible if a project accepted by the other parties is created. Dencu concluded by mentioning that PNL should respect its commitments and accept a period in opposition after years of governance.
