During a recent meeting, members of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) unanimously decided to propose Valentin-Alexandru Jucan for the position of president of the CNA. Jucan has held the position of vice president since January 19, 2023, having been appointed by the Romanian Parliament for the period of May 12, 2021 - May 11, 2027. He was also elected vice president of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities in Audiovisual (EPRA) in May 2025. According to legislation, the president of the CNA is appointed by a vote of the Parliament from among the members of the Council, serving a 6-year term. In the absence of the president, the leadership is ensured by the vice president. The vote for the election of the president and vice president takes place under specific conditions established by law.
