USR deputies Dumitru Văduva and Ovidiu Paraschivescu have initiated a bill to amend the Road Code, aimed at clarifying the obligations of drivers in situations of traffic jams or heavy traffic.
The project aims to eliminate ambiguity from current legislation and establish clear rules for forming a rescue corridor, essential for the rapid interventions of emergency crews. According to the proposal, drivers will need to pull over to the right or left, depending on the number of lanes, and failure to comply with these obligations will be considered an offense.
The models applied in Germany and Austria, where the rescue corridor is regulated, demonstrate that the response time of ambulances is significantly reduced.
Deputy Văduva emphasizes the importance of this project for saving lives, mentioning that every minute gained in intervention can increase the chances of survival.
