Meteorologists announce a cooling of the weather this weekend, after several days of high temperatures. Atmospheric instability will affect most of the country, with showers, thunderstorms, and wind intensifications, while isolated hail is expected. Moreover, according to the forecast for the next four weeks, rain will be more frequent especially in the mountainous areas and in the northeast, while temperatures will generally remain close to the values specific to the period.
ANM meteorologist, Meda Andrei, specified on Digi24 that severe phenomena will occur over limited areas, but the weather will become unstable in almost all regions.
Rain will begin on Friday in the north, center, and east, extending overnight into the southwest and south.
Saturday will be the most unstable day, with significant showers in the southwest, center, and northeast, where water quantities of over 15-20 l/m² are estimated.
On Sunday, the intensity of the phenomena will decrease, but rain will continue locally, especially in the east.
How the weather will be in the next four weeks
Next week, temperatures will be normal or slightly below the specific values for the period, with persistent rain on Monday and Tuesday, and instability could return later.
Moreover, thermal values will be close to those specific for the next weeks, across the entire territory of Romania. In contrast, in the period from May 11 to May 18, meteorologists estimate that "the rainfall regime will be excessive in most of the country, but especially in the mountainous areas."
Abundant rain is expected in the period from May 18 to May 25 in the Eastern Carpathians, but deficient, locally, in the southwest of the territory, while in the rest it will be close to normal.
In the period from May 25 to June 1, the estimated rainfall regime for this interval will be close to normal in all regions and slightly deficient in the mountainous area from June 1 to June 7.
