Ukraine will resume gas imports from Greece via the Trans-Balkan Route in November, as a result of significant losses in domestic production due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. According to the consulting firm ExPro, DEPA Commercial from Greece, together with DTEK D.Trading from Ukraine and Axpo Trading from Switzerland, have reserved the capacity to supply approximately 0.6 million cubic meters of gas per day. The Trans-Balkan pipeline has not been used in recent months, but the attacks in October reduced Ukraine's gas production by 55%, necessitating the import of an additional 4 billion cubic meters to ensure the heating of cities during the winter. Currently, Ukraine imports about 24 million cubic meters of gas per day from various sources, including Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. The tariff reductions applied by Moldovan and Romanian operators have facilitated the resumption of supplies through the Trans-Balkan route. This decision comes in the context of recent Russian attacks on energy facilities in various regions of Ukraine.
