The Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, has announced that the Tureni - Cluj-Napoca Express Road, which connects the Transylvania Highway to the DN1, will be opened in July 2024. Although the initial estimates indicated completion in June 2025, the works have progressed rapidly, reaching 95%. The contract, signed in July 2023, is worth RON 562.61 million and provides for 18 months of execution. The road will stretch 5 kilometers, with 10 kilometers of ramps for road junctions.
