Timișoara will benefit from a new delivery of trams, reaching a total of 50 vehicles, following an investment of 105.8 million lei, excluding VAT, funded through the Regional Program West 2021-2027. The new trams, built with 3 modules, are designed to better integrate into the existing infrastructure and respond to passenger flows. Mayor Dominic Fritz emphasized the importance of this investment, considering that last year there were 177 million passengers, with 53% of Timișoara residents using public transport.

The trains will be prioritized on lines 7 and 9, where modernization is needed. Representatives of the company Bozankaya, which produces the trams, appreciated the municipality's decision to customize the order to meet the specific needs of the city. Bozankaya is a leader in eco-friendly vehicles, having 36 years of experience in the field.
